RISE's permanent premises will be located in a privileged area of the historic centre of Nicosia, next to the new Town Hall of the Capital and the facilities of the Creative Industry Quarter designed by the Municipality of Nicosia. The area is bustling with round-the-clock activity and is already the preferred location for the growing creative and start up community of Nicosia and beyond. The building designated to host RISE, the old Municipal Market, is a landmark of the capital and a fine example of the Modern Architecture Movement. It possesses immense potential to be transformed into a 2000m2 state-of-the-art facility apt to host the multi-dimensional functions of the proposed centre of excellence in research and innovation. Its layout and connection to a network of open spaces and other facilities guarantee it is to become a hub for the vibrant community of aspiring entrepreneurs, professionals of the creative and cultural sector, academics, researchers and students; a melting pot of talent for innovation. The building of the old Municipal Market will be restored and renovated according to National regulations for preserved buildings.
