The Department of Computer Science at UCL was recently evaluated (REF 2014) as the top Computer Science department in the country. Virtual Environments and Computer Graphics is one of the department’s strengths; the group is world leader in its field with many industry and academic collaborators. We are very pleased to be in the RISE consortium. We want to build on our existing collaborations with Cyprus to create a new Cypriot Centre of excellence in Interactive media, Smart systems and Emerging Technologies. We hope that our experience at UCL both in the research area, and in leading several innovative knowledge exchange and entrepreneurship activities can be useful in shaping the RISE proposal and the long-term successful running of the centre.
