Martin Scott (male) is Head of EU Innovation Management in UCL’s European Research and Innovation Office. Martin is responsible for the design and implementation of a new Innovation Management service in support of UCL's Horizon 2020 activities, which will encompass Open Innovation, pathways from lab to market, liaison with industry & SMEs, capacity building and project portfolio management. He is a registered PRINCE2 and Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner and holds a postgraduate diploma in International Project Management. Martin has successfully managed several large-scale projects under various EU Framework Programmes, including the €15 million “EuroCoord” network, which was presented by the European Commission to the UK’s House of Lords as a “success story in collaborative R&D”. He has also co-authored a paper on the management of large-scale European programmes, entitled “Big science and big administration” (European Physical Sciences Journal Special Topics, November 2012, Volume 214, Issue 1). He is also co-founder and Chief Operations Officer of “Crowdhelix”, a web platform that matches companies and academic researchers to collaborate on grant proposals and short projects.
